ABOUT THE ALBUM
D-Sides is an assortment of B-sides from the Gorillaz's multi-platinum sophomore album Demon Days, early demos and previously unreleased tracks compiled together for the first time.

D-Sides highlights include "Hong Kong," the lush and lovely track recorded by Gorillaz for Warchild and the surprise hit of last year's Demon Days Live show (given an exclusive refit here with added strings), the dubbed-out collaboration with The Bees, "Bill Murray," and the apocalyptic scum-pop of "We Are Happy Landfill." "Stop The Dams" is another collaboration, this time with the Sugarcubes' Einar Orn, protesting against dam building in Iceland's wilderness. Demos "People" (which later became Demon Days single "DARE") and "Don't Get Lost in Heaven" give a sneak peek into the band's creative process, while the Mandarin version of "Dirty Harry" provides an insight into how Gorillaz might sound if they'd been born east of the Yangtze instead of deep in the wilds of Essex, while D-Sides' bonus CD of remixes includes reworkings by DFA, Junior Sanchez and Hot Chip.

A special edition of D-Sides will be available in a debossed glossy dual box, and will include two exclusive Jamie Hewlett prints, four of limited Gorillaz pins, four stickers and a Pazuzu patch. The track listing will be the same as the standard edition.

D-Sides follows the immensely popular G-Sides, a collection of B-sides and rarities from the band's debut album, Gorillaz.

My Review: This release seems more like a collection of experimental work than a full-fledged album (clearly, that's why it's yet another B-Sides collection). Nonetheless, I've found that it's very worthwhile to hear some hints as to where the band is headed. Here's to hoping they'll tie up all of these samples and put together a full album soon!

Best Song: We are Happy Landfill -- it's a solid, solid song. However, Hongkongaton is really starting to stick with me.

My Review: A brilliant compilation of rare and unreleased tracks. It's very nice to get a new spin on some of the older songs and to have a taste of some of the rarities. Excellent work, definitely some tracks that I would consider bigger and better than mere B-Sides.

My Review: This is one of the best albums I ever picked up! One of the few albums that has exceeded my expectations!!! I recommend you pick it up, if you haven't already!

My Review: Not Gorillaz Best. But a fine collection of Songs. Even though most of the songs had been represented to the people, only true fans reallly knew about them. There are song strong tracks on this Album like Hong Kong and Kids With Guns (Jamie T Remix), but many can get old and repetitive fast. 7/10

My Review: Overall, I enjoyed the album. Its always nice to hear the songs we missed. I was also happy to see an entire seperate disc for the remixes. There are more original songs rather than remixes, unlike G-Sides (which I did enjoy). At some points though, the B-sides failed to deliver, and I did not like many of the remixes, but the CD had its moments. Overall review is 8/10.

Worst Song: I don't really have a "worst" but I didn't take a fancy to Murdoc is God, and quite a few of the remixes.

My Review: A good compilation, but not really worth buying. These b-sides have all been available online for quite some time, and if you had been following everything during the time Demon Days was out, you probably grabbed these or heard them. Granted, the art can probably warrant a purchase, and if you've been buying everything since the self-titled, you might want it. But I found it not enough for me to buy. It was good though.

Also, my only other gripe is the lack of my favorite Phase Two remix, Dirty Harry (Chopper Remix). I was hoping it'd be on here.

A 10 out of 10, music wise.
